The Spring Brake Thingy is a simple, quick-to-install parking brake for Can-Am 1000 Commander/Maverick models from 2013–2018. It does NOT fit X3 models and does not have a locking feature.
Installation is easy: simply back out the 15mm nut on the brake pedal, slide the Spring Brake Thingy into place, and tighten the nut back down.
To use it, press the brake pedal with your right foot, then use your left foot to slide the lever over the brake pedal arm. This engages all four brakes. To release the parking brake, simply press the brake pedal with your right foot until the arm springs back off the pedal.
That’s it - simple, fast, and easy!
NOTE:
- ALWAYS USE PARK WITH THE SPRING BRAKE THINGY AND MAKE SURE YOUR BRAKES ARE IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION.
