S&B’s KRX/Ridge dry, cleanable air filter uses proprietary synthetic media that flows 4.5% better than the stock filter while maintaining 99.93% filtration efficiency.
Cleaning is simple: first, wear protective eyewear and remove the filter, then gently tap it on a hard surface to remove loose debris. Next, blow compressed air through the inside of the filter outward, keeping the nozzle at least 1 inch away and using no more than 30 PSI. Blow from the outside at an angle to remove remaining debris, then blow through it from the inside again.
After that, use a garden hose at about 75% pressure to wash the filter from the inside out, then wash the outside. Repeat until the filter is close to its original white color, and let it air-dry completely before reinstalling it—use a fan if needed, but never use hot air.
Before reinstalling, inspect the cage, pleats, and rubber for damage; do not reuse the filter if anything is damaged. For best engine protection, replace the filter after 10 cleaning cycles.
