Catalytic Converter & Backfire Information:
The OEM KRX 1000 muffler includes a catalytic converter. Replacing it with the GGB Sport Muffler removes that restriction and may result in some exhaust popping or backfire during deceleration. Some riders enjoy the added sound, while others prefer less.
To reduce backfire:
- Use 87 octane fuel
- Ease off the throttle smoothly instead of abruptly closing it
- An aftermarket tune from a reputable tuner can further reduce or eliminate decel backfire
