The 4 lift is particularly suited for mud adventures, preventing swamp encounters and allowing for larger tires with a torque boost for easy mud navigation. The gear reduction's strategic placement in the hub protects the drivetrain, reducing stress on axles, differentials, prop shaft, and transmission. Premium gears made from a robust 9310 alloy steel ensure smooth operation and longevity.
The housing, a critical component of the portal gear lift, comes in two unbeatable options: cast or USA-made 6061 billet aluminum with a CNC-machined finish. Both options are reinforced in key areas, designed for optimal oil flow and gearing forces, and omit vents to avoid potential harm. Backing plates, made from an advanced steel alloy, are exceptionally strong with a thickness of 5/16", surpassing chromoly strength. Advanced gaskets and seals, regardless of housing choice, provide superior oil resistance and prevent leaks.
Bearings play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation, with strong roller bearings for the idler gear and a double-angular contact bearing for the output bearing, built to withstand extensive use. The GDP portals feature precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors for effective cooling and braking power. Universal hubs with various bolt patterns allow compatibility with a wide range of side-by-side wheels. The tapered output shaft provides a secure lock without wobbling over time.
