Wheel Requirements:
- 22” or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5” backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1” wheel spacer

Choose from 45%, 60%, or 70% gear reduction to match your setup, along with billet or cast aluminum housings. The unique dual-idler design spreads the load across two idler gears for stronger torque transfer, while precision CNC-ground 9310 steel gears provide smooth and reliable performance. Because the gear reduction happens at the wheel hubs instead of the transmission, the system can also help reduce stress on the axles, driveshaft, differential, and transmission.
Built for tough work and aggressive riding, these portals feature reinforced housings, 5/16-inch advanced steel alloy backing plates, durable gaskets, seals, and bearings, plus optimized oil flow. They’re designed to handle rocky terrain, deep mud, and larger tires and come with a lifetime warranty.
An 8-inch portal lift requires a frame stiffener to help prevent frame flex when running oversized tires and putting your Defender under heavier loads. With multiple gear reduction options and heavy-duty construction, you can customize your Defender HD8 for the way you work and ride.
