Catalytic Converter & Backfire Information:
The factory KRX 1000 muffler includes a catalytic converter. Replacing it with the GGB Trail Muffler removes that restriction and may cause some deceleration backfire. Some riders prefer this added sound, while others may want to reduce it.
To minimize backfire:
- Run 87 octane fuel
- Ease off the throttle smoothly instead of abruptly closing it
- A quality aftermarket tune can further reduce or eliminate deceleration backfire
