Wheel Requirements:
- 22” or larger wheel required
- Wheels cannot exceed 5” backspacing
- Wheels need to have a center hole of at least 3.25" (82.55mm) or require a 1” wheel spacer
Take your Can-Am Defender HD9 to the next level with Super ATV’s 8-inch GDP Portal Gear Lift, combining an 8-inch lift with built-in gear reduction for more torque, ground clearance, and the ability to run larger tires.
Choose from 45%, 60%, or 70% gear reduction to match your riding style, along with billet or cast aluminum housings. The unique dual-idler gear design spreads the load across two idler gears for stronger torque transfer, while precision CNC-ground 9310 steel gears provide smooth, reliable performance.
By moving the gear reduction from the transmission to the wheel hubs, GDP Portals can also help reduce stress on the axles, prop shaft, differential, and transmission.
Built for serious use, the portals feature reinforced housings, 5/16-inch advanced steel alloy backing plates, heavy-duty gaskets, seals, and bearings, plus optimized oil flow for dependable performance. They’re designed to handle rock crawling, deep mud, oversized tires, and demanding terrain, and come with a lifetime warranty.
An 8-inch portal lift requires a frame stiffener to help support the Defender’s frame and prevent deformation when running larger tires and putting the machine under heavier loads. With multiple gear reduction options and durable construction, you can build your Defender HD9 around the way you ride.

- All required hardware, including recessed castle nut socket
