The SANDCRAFT 1018 billet-steel one-piece Shift Pawl is designed to replace and prevent failure of the OE roller pawl caused by aggressive shift-detent stars.
When the factory pawl breaks, metal debris can fall into the transmission gears and cause serious internal damage.
If you find steel roller or rivet debris on the transmission magnet, your shift pawl has likely failed and should be replaced immediately.
