Savage UTV Starlink Mini Bolt-On 2019+ Chevy/GMC 1500 and 2020+ Chevy/GMC 2500, 3500 Rooftop Mount Kit
The Savage UTV Starlink Mini Bolt-On 2019+ Chevy/GMC 1500 and 2020+ Chevy/GMC 2500, 3500 Rooftop Mount Kit provides a clean, vehicle-specific way to mount a Starlink Mini to your truck without cutting or drilling. Designed to install at the third brake light area, it offers a secure rooftop-style mounting solution while maintaining a streamlined fit.
Built for select Chevy and GMC truck applications, this mount fits between the rear wing and the third brake light and is designed to stay in place while allowing the dish to be removed when needed. Its powder coated aluminum construction, stainless steel hardware, and added magnetic rubber feet support a durable and stable installation for mobile use.
For users looking for a more refined alternative to temporary mounting solutions, this kit combines a bolt-on fit, removable dish setup, and practical cable routing hardware in one purpose-built package.
Features
- Vehicle-Specific Bolt-On Design: Designed for 2019+ Chevy/GMC 1500 and 2020+ Chevy/GMC 2500 and 3500 trucks in crew cab and double cab configurations.
- No Cutting or Drilling Required: Mounts at the third brake light area without permanent modification to the truck body.
- Powder Coated Aluminum Construction: Built from powder coated aluminum for a durable and clean finished appearance.
- Stainless Steel Hardware: Includes stainless steel hardware for secure mounting and corrosion resistance.
- Removable Dish Setup: The mount remains installed while the Starlink Mini dish can be removed as needed.
- Magnetic Rubber Feet: Two small magnets with rubber feet help stabilize the mount and reduce vibration in demanding conditions.
- Accessory Mounting Holes: Two pre-drilled holes on the top of the mount can be used for an antenna or other bolt-on accessory.
Design and Mounting Position
This mount is designed to fit between the rear wing and the third brake light, creating a clean installation point that keeps the Starlink Mini positioned on the truck in a stable, low-profile manner. The mount is intended to remain fixed in place while allowing the dish itself to be removed when needed.
The Starlink Mini can be secured using the factory kickstand included with the dish, allowing the dish to sit completely flat on the mount. For users who want a more secure retention method, an optional locking metal mount is also available.
Construction and Stability
The mount is constructed from powder coated aluminum and paired with stainless steel hardware for strength and durability. This combination supports long-term use in outdoor and vehicle-mounted environments while maintaining a clean, purpose-built finish.
To help reduce road vibration and improve stability in high winds, the mount also uses two small magnets with rubber feet. These added contact points help keep the system more settled during travel and in exposed conditions.
Installation Details
This installation does not require cutting or drilling, but it is more involved than a simple temporary mount. According to the manufacturer, installation may take up to two hours depending on experience and setup.
The rear section of the headliner must be loosened to access the bolts that secure the third brake light to the truck body. Installation instructions are included, along with a trim removal tool, and a step-by-step install video is also provided by the manufacturer.
Power Cable and Routing
The kit includes a 10-foot 12V DC power cable intended to support routing from the dish down the driver-side C-pillar to the floorboard area. This provides the necessary cable length for the mount installation itself while leaving the final power integration choice up to the installer.
Beyond that point, users will need to determine the power source that best fits their setup. The manufacturer notes that options may include ACC power, IGN power, 110 AC power, or a separate power bank, and users may also choose whether to add an on/off switch.
Optional Security and Accessory Flexibility
The standard mount works with the Starlink Mini kickstand, but an optional locking metal mount can be selected for a more secure dish attachment. That locking version requires a special anti-theft release tool, which is included, and it positions the dish at a slight aerodynamic angle.
In addition to dish mounting, the top of the mount includes two pre-drilled holes that can be used for an antenna or another bolt-on accessory, adding a bit more flexibility for users building out a connected vehicle setup.
Why It Stands Out
This mount offers a more integrated vehicle-specific solution for mounting a Starlink Mini on select Chevy and GMC trucks without requiring drilling or cutting. Its fitment at the third brake light area, durable metal construction, and removable dish setup make it a practical option for users who want a cleaner and more permanent-style installation.
With included mounting hardware, a 12V DC power cable, magnetic stabilization points, installation instructions, and compatibility with an optional locking mount, it delivers a well-rounded platform for truck-based Starlink Mini use.
