RPM Can-Am X3 Turbo Blow Off Valve ( BOV ) Kit 2017-2019
This kit installs in roughly 20 minutes and is completely straightforward. Simply replace the factory primary charge tube with the supplied silicone tube, install the new boost/vacuum nipple, and mount your RPM blow-off valve. The kit positions the BOV behind the driver’s compartment access panel, making it easily accessible just behind the seat.
A blow-off valve isn’t just about sound—it serves a critical performance and reliability function. When throttle closes, pressure builds on the charge side of the system. Without a place to release, that pressure creates turbulence at the turbo impeller, slowing spool-up and accelerating wear. Installing a BOV relieves this pressure, improving boost response, extending turbo life, and delivering that unmistakable “swoosh” sound.
If you ever choose to return the vehicle to stock, a billet block-off plug is included to replace the BOV and fully eliminate it from the system.
From the factory, the Can-Am X3 has no provision for a blow-off or diverter valve on the stock turbo system—there’s simply nowhere to install one. RPM solves this with a purpose-built silicone BOV charge tube designed to connect between the compressor outlet and the intercooler’s plastic charge tube. The smooth internal design minimizes turbulence while providing a dedicated mounting location for the BOV.
For proper vacuum reference, the kit includes a two-piece billet vacuum port with an O-ring–sealed, machined manifold fitting. This installs directly into the factory intake manifold at a location after the throttle body and before the cylinder head—exactly where true boost and vacuum signals must be referenced. Can-Am conveniently provided a factory block-off plug in this location, which is easily removed and replaced with the RPM billet port for a secure, leak-free connection.
The RPM BOV itself is a precision-machined, billet aluminum, anodized unit. Built to extremely tight tolerances, it features a perfectly seated piston that operates smoothly and consistently, delivering crisp throttle response and reliable, worry-free performance.
The RPM blow-off valve is a must-have upgrade for any machine equipped with a plastic factory BOV—known to warp—or for vehicles that came without a BOV altogether.
