CT Race Worx Can-Am Maverick R Pro Rock High Clearance Billet Radius Rod Kit with Double E Rear Sway Bar

Take your Can-Am Maverick R to the next level with the CT Race Worx Pro Rock Radius Rod Kit, an innovative suspension upgrade engineered for serious off-road performance and massive ground clearance. Designed for riders who push their machines to the limit, these fully adjustable, ultra–high clearance radius rods are built to withstand extreme abuse while delivering substantial clearance gains where it matters most.

Achieving this level of clearance while maintaining strength and proper component spacing required a complete rethinking of the rear suspension layout. The process began by relocating the rear sway bar higher on the chassis. To accomplish this, CT Race Worx developed a bolt-on sway bar mount that maintains the stiffness and rigidity required for proper sway bar performance while accurately positioning all components. Unlike the standard kit, this version uses a different sway bar relocation bracket and does not include sway bar links. A 12-inch sway bar link is required and can be supplied by either Double E or CT Race Worx.

Once the sway bar relocation was addressed, the focus shifted to building exceptionally strong lower and middle radius rods. These components are machined from 1.5-inch thick American-made 7075-T6 aluminum plate and feature 3/4" FK WSSX uniballs with 303 stainless steel spacers. This design provides tremendous strength while delivering an impressive 3-1/8 inches of ground clearance, matching the clearance provided by CT Race Worx front A-arms. In portions of the suspension travel arc, the rods sit nearly even with the axle shaft. The lower rod also incorporates a large chamfer on the front lower face to help the vehicle slide smoothly over rocks and obstacles when contact occurs.

The middle radius rods include CT Race Worx’s single-point adjuster system, allowing quick and easy toe adjustments directly on the vehicle using a 3/4" FK JMX joint. Simply rotate the adjuster to lengthen or shorten the rod, tighten the two pinch clamp bolts, and the adjustment is locked in place—no jam nuts to loosen or fail. This adjuster design has been proven for years on both the Pro R and Maverick X3 platforms.

At the spindle connection point, CT Race Worx replaces the factory tapered ball joint stud with a patent-pending billet double-shear bracket using 14mm hardware, making installation and removal faster and more secure. The upper radius rods are constructed from 1.25-inch solid round 7075 aluminum and use 3/4" FK JMX joints with 303 stainless spacers to provide both strength and straightforward adjustability.

Why CT Race Worx Uses 7075-T6 Aluminum

CT Race Worx chooses 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum because it delivers significantly higher strength compared to commonly used 6061 aluminum—nearly twice the strength. The highest stress points in a radius rod are typically the areas surrounding the uniballs or threaded joints. These areas are often limited by clearance constraints near trailing arms, spindles, and other suspension components. During hard bottom-outs, the lower rod experiences tremendous pulling forces, making material strength critical.

Threaded sections also demand maximum strength to prevent threads from pulling out or compressing over time, which could cause joint looseness. Another advantage of 7075 is its flexibility and memory, allowing it to deflect up to 10% under direct impact and return to its original shape. This resilience is why 7075 aluminum is commonly used in aircraft wings, as well as in high-performance off-road suspension components such as rock crawler links, rock bouncer suspension systems, and trophy truck trailing arms and control arms.
