Thunderhawk Performance offers a patent-pending rear receiver hitch system designed to accommodate Polaris rear bumpers, a popular option for RZR XP 1000 and XP Turbo models. Recognizing the common issue with one-piece hitches interfering with routine maintenance, Thunderhawk's two-piece hitch eliminates the need for suspension disassembly, providing easier access to the transmission and rear differential fluid fill/level plug.

The key to this system lies in Thunderhawk's double-shear radius rod support plate, replacing the original stiffener plate and reinforcing the frame by creating a second frame mount for the rear of the radius rods. This design prevents frame flex, deformation, and cracking around the radius rod mounting holes, doubling the strength of the radius rod mounting bolts.

Fitment of Thunderhawk Double-Shear Hitches depends on the width of the radius rods. The hitches are available for both standard straight radius rods (1 3/8" wide) and High-Clearance radius rods (1 3/4" wide). For aftermarket radius rods, customers need to provide the measurement of their rods to ensure the correct fit.

The system is compatible with Polaris rear bumpers and some aftermarket bumpers with a similar design. For frame-mount bumpers, the fitment is determined by the presence of a cross-tube down low, ensuring compatibility with the hitch.

Thunderhawk hitches have a durable black powder coat finish and are constructed with reinforced receiver tubes for strength, durability, and proper fitment with towing accessories. Additional features include double gussets to eliminate deflection of the receiver tube during towing, accessibility to the factory tow point, and a tongue weight rating of 150 lbs. Installation takes approximately 60-90 minutes. It is important to note that this hitch does not fit the RZR XP Turbo S (72" wide model) or RS-1 (single-seat). Thunderhawk Performance receiver hitches accept standard 2" automotive receiver hitch components, commonly used on most pick-up trucks, making them easily accessible at large discount stores or auto parts chains.
