The Polaris Ranger Mid Size 570 Skid Plate from Trail Armor provides comprehensive coverage in super durable 1/2" UHMW. UHMW has become the skid plate material of choice, because of its superior features to steel and aluminum. Not only is UHMW lighter than its metal counterparts it is also stronger. Where aluminum might dent, UHMW absorbs and distributes impact preventing damage to the skid plates. UHMW also slides as opposed to sticks. Steel will get caught up on rocks where UHMW will will slide off. The low friction coefficient causes more deflection which also increases direct impact to the machine.
