Skid Plate, Fuel Tank, Polaris RZR

Thunderhawk Performance introduces our exclusive Fuel Tank Skid Plate & Heat Shield for the Polaris RZR. From the factory, Polaris has installed a light duty plastic skid plate to protect the bottom of the RZR, including only the front half of the fuel tank. Most aftermarket skid plates replace the factory skid plate, improving the protection for the front of the fuel tank, but still leaving the rear half of the fuel tank unprotected. Thunderhawk's Fuel Tank Skid Plate addresses this shortcoming and provides heavy-duty protection for the rear of the fuel tank. This item is designed to fit with the stock Polaris skid plates as well as most aftermarket skid plates.

Thunderhawk's Fuel Tank Skid Plate is manufactured from aircraft grade aluminum and mounts to the frame, below the fuel tank, to provide the strength necessary for dragging over rocks and trail obstacles, providing protection for the previously exposed gas tank bottom. Thunderhawk's Fuel Tank Skid Plate also extends up behind the fuel tank and mounts to the vertical frame tubing, providing protection all the way up to the bottom of the cargo floor. With this skid plate installed, the RZR's rear tire can no longer throw rocks and debris onto the plastic fuel tank. In addition, the top part of this skid plate functions as a heat shield to protect the plastic cabin wall behind the seat from melting or deforming due to excessive exhaust and engine heat.

The Thunderhawk Performance Fuel Tank Skid Plate & Heat Shield installs easily in about 25 minutes. This is a complete kit including the skid plate, mounting brackets, all necessary hardware and illustrated instructions. Does not fit with Polaris Rock-Slider nerf bars. Made in USA.
